Will your MULTI Card expire in the next three months?   Renew it now! 

 

The MULTI Card allows residents to register for all activities offered by the City.  It is also proof of residence and is required to access City services.

HOW TO RENEW YOUR MULTI CARD

 

If your card will expire in the next three months:

 

Go to the Central Library, the Aquatic Centre, or City Hall;

A photo will be taken of all family members age 6 and up;

Show recent proof of residence and your current MULTI Card;

Your card will be renewed for two years.

 

 

IT PAYS TO RENEW!!  There will be a prize draw every month among numbers of renewed MULTI Cards.

On February 1, 2017, Alexandre Trudeau visited the Pointe-Claire Public Library to share his fascination with China and talk about his book, Barbarian Lost: Travels in New China. The lecture and accompanying video were sponsored by the Friends of the Library

NEW LOAN PERIOD FOR DIGITAL BOOKS AND AUDIOBOOKS

 

 

You now have the option of a 21 day loan period for digital books or audiobooks downloaded from Overdrive (emedia) and all digital books downloaded from PRETNUMERIQUE.CA.

 

 


 

 

THE NEW MULTI CARD IS HERE

 

A new card is being issued free of charge for all Pointe-Claire residents (adults and children) starting January 16, 2016. 

 

This card will replace your current Library card and also enable you to register for City activities.  Please get your new card before May 31, 2016.  After that date, your current Library card becomes invalid.

 

You can get your new Multi Card at the Central Library or the Aquatic Centre during regular opening hours after January 16, 2016. 

 

A photo is required for everyone, ages six and up, and will be taken on the spot.

 

When applying for your card residents must provide photo ID and a proof of residence showing the name and address of each family member.

 

Like your previous library card, the multi card will be valid for two years.

BRITANNICA IMAGE QUEST

 

Do you need a picture to illustrate a school project? Are you looking for photographs to enliven your presentation at an upcoming meeting? Britannica Image Quest is a trusted database providing close to 3 million images from the world's best collections, cleared of rights for educational purposes.

PS3 and PS4 GAMES NOW AVAILABLE AT THE LIBRARY

 

 

A new collection of PS3 and PS4 games for adults, teens and children has been added to our gaming collection.   

 

 


 

 

eBOOKS FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS NOW AVAILABLE

 

 

More than fifty new e-books are now available at the Pointe-Claire library, in both English and French, for children and teens. You will find them on the emedia platform in English and on pretnumerique.ca in French. You can also find audiobooks that may be downloaded to your MP3 listening device on emedia.

 

So take advantage of this free resource available to all library members.  For more information or for help setting up your mobile device, please consult the Digital Media section of the library’s website.

An exciting addition to our regular book clubs this fall is the new Online Book Club led by bilingual Pointe-Claire resident, Michelle Payette-Daoust.

NEW DATABASES AVAILABLE

 

Two new databases have been added to our collection:  Career Cruising and Mango Languages.

 

Career Cruising is a database designed for job seekers of all ages so if you are looking for a new career and need some very useful tips, check it out. 

 

Mango Languages is designed for those of you who would like to learn a new language or learn a few key phrases for when you are on vacation.  And yes, there is an app for that, which certainly helps out when you are travelling!

 

 


 

       

A NEW TEEN SPACE AT THE LIBRARY!

 

The Teen Space of the Central Library has almost been completed. Teens are already enjoying the new layout to do their homework, to read or to simply relax. Surrounded by the teen collection,  the space is comprised of three work stations, one table, chairs and a display case for new documents
