ONLINE REGISTRATION

 

Participants must have a Multi card number and make sure, before registration, that their phone number matches the phone number in our files. To register, go to ludik.pointe-claire.ca.

 

Internet registration assistance will be available on June 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., at 514-630-1225. Internet stations will be available at the Library for you to register online.

 

To find out how to get a Multi card number, please call 514-630-1218, ext. 1637. If you don’t have a Multi card number, you must register in person.

 

 

 

ACTIVITIES FOR TEENS

 

All activities for teens are free. They are open to Library members. Library membership is free for Pointe-Claire residents and for all young people attending a high school in Pointe-Claire.

 

Teens who live in Pointe-Claire must register online. Non-resident Library members must register in person at the Central Library.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT

 

We ask you to show courtesy by coming to the activities for which you are registered. If you cannot attend an activity, please let us know as soon as possible, and at least 24 hours in advance, at 514-630-1218, extension 1623; otherwise, a fee will be applied. When you let us know in advance, we can give someone else the opportunity to participate.

TEEN SUMMER READING CHALLENGES

 

This summer, teens are encouraged to challenge themselves to read more. A number of activities and challenges are offered; register now and start accumulating pages! Whenever you submit a book review (online or in person), you will earn coupons for the draws at the Book Launch Party (one coupon per one hundred pages read). Once you have registered, you can pick up an information kit at the Children Info Desk.

 

Books read for the following challenges can also count toward the Library’s Literary Bingo.

 

 

 

500 PAGE CHALLENGE

 

Teens fill out a reading leaflet and bring it to the Library in order to win a prize.

Reading leaflets will be given out during grade 6 class visits and to high school students upon request.

 

Registration not required.

Free for Library members.

 

June 7 to August 16, 2017.

Central and Valois (ages 12 to 17) – bilingual.

 

 

 

2,500 PAGE CHALLENGE

 

Teens can succeed at this challenge by reading approximately one 300-page novel each week. Those who read 2500 to 7999 pages will receive a prize and coupons for a draw for one of three $50 gift certificates to bookstore of their choice.

8,000 PAGE SUPER CHALLENGE

 

Participants who read 8,000 pages or more will be exclusively entered in a special draw for a $200 gift certificate for the Fairview Pointe-Claire shopping centre or at a bookstore of their choice.

Teens learn the process of creating a book from start to finish. Participants who attend all workshops will receive a copy of the book, which will also be available for loan in the teen section.

Create a cartoon or manga character that will serve as inspiration for the writing workshop.
